The Carp Nugget has a wider profile than the Scarpion and denser material packed in front of the bead-chain eyes, so it hits the water softer and keeps a wide profile on the bottom. A hidden stainless bead tied belly-scratcher style gets it down a touch faster.
Like most carp flies it can pass for a range of nymphs and crustaceans, but I designed this one to match the mussels our local carp gorge on — and it makes a great baby crawfish, too.
